Spare Parts Reorder Point

ROP = (Daily use × Lead time) + Safety stock.

Reorder Point

What reorder point means

The reorder point is the stock level at which a new order should be placed so that parts still arrive before the ship runs out. Lead time at sea is long: a filter or impeller can take weeks from the maker. Safety stock covers delays, extra consumption and a missed port.

How this calculator works

ROP = Daily use × Lead time + Safety stock. If current ROB is entered, the page says whether you are already below the reorder point. Critical class-required spares follow the company’s minimum-stock list, not only this formula. Order quantity is a separate decision.

Who should use it

Useful for the second engineer and storekeeper. Official requisitions stay in the company PMS.
