Why throughput is limited
A fuel or lube-oil purifier only separates well if the oil stays in the bowl long enough. The maker’s rated capacity is for a stated viscosity and temperature. Thick, cold or dirty oil needs a lower throughput. Running above the rated figure can send sludge and water over with the clean oil.
How this calculator works
Throughput = Volume processed ÷ Running time, shown in m³/h and litres/h. If a rated capacity is entered, the page shows actual as a percentage of rated. Use tank soundings and the running-hours counter. Bowl disc condition and correct gravity disc still matter more than the number alone.
Who should use it
Useful for the second engineer setting the feed valve. Follow the purifier manual for temperature and recommended capacity.
