How this compressor works
The picture never leaves your phone or computer. The browser redraws it on a canvas and saves a new JPEG. Quality 92% is the default so faces, stamps and document text stay clear. Lower the slider only if the file must be under an email or form limit. Max width 1920 px is enough for most reports; do not shrink below that if you need a sharp stamp or a gauge photo.
What it cannot do
A JPEG that is already small will not shrink much at 92%. PNG logos with text sometimes look better left as PNG. This tool is not a PDF maker. For a scanned certificate, keep a full-size copy as well as the compressed one.
Who should use it
Useful before sending a defect photo or a bunker receipt by email. Official documents should also stay in original quality in the ship’s file.
